Our Certified Laboratories

METAD’s Coffee Quality Control Laboratory was the first privately owned laboratory certified in Africa (2013) by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). The second and larger laboratory was certified by SCA in December 2019. Both labs are equipped with state-of-the-art coffee tasting technology, the labs serve as a training site for domestic and international coffee professionals and are available for use by our valued customers. METAD is an In-Country Partner for the SCA and Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).

The first Lab that can train up to 12 students and the second up to 24 students at a time for certifications purposes

Our highly trained quality assurance staff includes Q-certified coffee cuppers/graders from around the globe, who will be on hand to assist and educate as needed.

Additionally, we offer the following services within our lab which add value to our coffee and customers:

Pre-shipment sample preparation and sample approval prior to coffee shipment

Coffee quality training and certification (Q-cuppers)

Training and education for local farmers to help them produce higher quality coffee and receive good prices for their beans

Certification for the coffees tested at our lab (Q-graded coffees)
